Building for Today and the Next Generation

We’ve seen many people come to Christ, but we believe the harvest is ripe. Even with two Sunday services, our current space is limiting the number of people we can reach.

Watch the testimonies of the people God has already brought into the JVC family and imagine what more He can do.

“Things fell in place. I just knew I had to be here.”

— Mo

“Churches are vehicles that will put you on a journey to know Christ. I found a true Bible believing church at JVC. ”

— Richard

“It’s been a huge impact having a faithful community we can grow up with and live with and rely on.”

— Josh

“I got to meet a lot of sweet-hearted people who didn’t even know me and they welcomed me immediately.”

— Dulce

In Utah, churches that grow to about 300 people are often better able to reach non‑believers.

With God’s help, reaching that size lets us deepen our roots and expand our kingdom impact.

Building for Today:

  • Parking: We currently have only 24 parking spaces, a significant barrier to entry in our community.

  • Capacity Reached: Even with two Sunday services, we are quickly approaching the usable capacity of our sanctuary.

  • Kids Ministry Overflow: Our children's rooms and nursery are maxed out, limiting our ability to welcome families with young children.

  • A Barrier to Connection: For those from an LDS background, visiting a Christian church can already feel intimidating. Simple logistical struggles like a lack of parking or crowded seating can unfortunately become significant obstacles to hearing the Gospel.

Building for the Future:

  • An Anchor for the PCA: By God's grace, this facility will enable us to become an anchor church, providing a stable, vibrant presence for the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in Utah.

  • Training Ministry Leaders: We will establish a dedicated space to host regular interns and ministry apprentices, training the next generation of Christian leaders for service in unreached areas.

  • Planting Churches: This foundation will allow us to fund and provide essential people resources for future church plants across the state of Utah, expanding the reach of the \gospel.

God is doing amazing things in Utah.

FAQs

Why not plant a church?

Because of the unique religious landscape in Utah, we’ve discovered that a church building and congregation the size of a local LDS ward resonates with the people. It’s more inviting and is the right size to be able to offer friendships and ministries for all age groups. Our new building will allow us to reach this size, and we plan to then plant daughter churches from our new space.

Why is Utah a missions field?

Utah is the least Christian state in the US. In fact, by percentage, Egypt has a higher percentage of Christians than Utah. While Utah is deeply religious, few people have ever walked into a Christian church or heard the true gospel. And yet, we see God at work as more people are asking questions about their faith than ever before.

What's your timeline?

We hope to move into a new building by 2030. This is an aggressive timeline because of the difficulties of finding space for churches and the large fundraising need, but we are trusting in God to provide for us if this is his will.
